Our brow wax and tint service at Revive Glam Studio enhances your brows for a polished, defined look that lasts. Follow these pre-care and aftercare instructions to get the best results and keep your brows looking flawless. Here’s what you need to know before, during, and after your appointment.
Before Your Brow Wax and Tint Appointment
Avoid Exfoliating and Active Skincare Products Around the Brow Area
Timing: Refrain from using retinoids, glycolic acids, salicylic acids, or any active skincare products around the brow area at least 3-5 days before your appointment. This prevents irritation and allows the skin to be in optimal condition for waxing.
Let Your Brows Grow Out
Timing: Allow your brows to grow for at least 2-3 weeks before your appointment. This ensures there is enough hair for the esthetician to shape effectively.
Limit Sun Exposure and Tanning
Timing: Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning beds for at least 48 hours before your appointment. Sunburned or recently tanned skin is more sensitive and can increase the risk of irritation.
Discontinue Use of Hair Removal Treatments
Timing: Stop tweezing, waxing, or using depilatory creams on the brow area for at least 2 weeks before the appointment. This allows for more precise shaping during the service.
Allergy Disclaimer
Patch Test: If you have sensitive skin or a history of allergies, please let us know before your appointment. A patch test can be performed at least 24 hours before the tinting to check for any allergic reactions. Please see below for potential allergens, please note that there can still be an allergy present.
What to Expect During the Treatment
Consultation and Brow Assessment
Your esthetician will begin with a brief consultation to understand your desired brow shape and color. Your natural brow shape, facial features, and hair color will be assessed to achieve the most flattering look.
Brow Cleansing and Preparation
The brow area will be cleansed to remove any makeup, oils, or impurities. This step ensures that the wax adheres properly and the tint absorbs evenly.
Brow Waxing
A gentle wax will be applied to remove unwanted hairs and shape the brows. You may feel a quick, slight sting during the waxing, but this is brief and tolerable.
Brow Tint Application
After waxing, a brow tint will be applied to enhance the color of your brows. The tint is customized to suit your natural brow shade and preferred intensity. The tint is left on for a few minutes to achieve the desired color and then carefully removed.
Soothing and Calming Application
Once the waxing and tinting are complete, a calming lotion or serum will be applied to soothe the area and reduce redness. Your brows will then be brushed into place for the final look.
Aftercare Tips for Your Brow Wax and Tint
Avoid Heat and Sweating for 24 Hours
Activities: Refrain from saunas, steam rooms, hot showers, and intense exercise for 24 hours after your treatment. Heat can cause irritation or make the tint fade faster.
Keep the Brow Area Clean and Dry
Timing: Avoid touching or washing your brows for at least 24 hours after your appointment. This helps the tint set and keeps the waxed skin calm.
Moisturize and Soothe the Area
Use a Gentle Moisturizer: Apply a calming moisturizer to keep the brow area hydrated. This is especially important if you have dry or sensitive skin.
Hydrating Serum: Using a hydrating serum can help maintain skin moisture and support the healing process.
Avoid Sun Exposure and Tanning for 48 Hours
Reason: The skin around the brows may be more sensitive after waxing, making it more prone to irritation or discoloration from UV exposure. Wear a hat or use sunscreen on your forehead when outdoors.
Do Not Use Makeup on the Brows for 24-48 Hours
Why: Let your skin breathe and allow the tint to fully set by avoiding makeup application for at least 24-48 hours post-treatment.
Avoid Exfoliating Products Around the Brow Area for 5-7 Days
Reason: Exfoliants and active ingredients can irritate freshly waxed skin and cause the tint to fade more quickly.
When to Book Your Brow Wax and Tint Appointment
Special Events: Book your appointment 2-3 days before any special event for the best results, as any redness will have subsided and the tint will look its most vibrant.
Routine Maintenance: Schedule regular brow waxing and tinting every 4-6 weeks to keep your brows looking perfectly shaped and defined.
